Caregiving can certainly take its toll and many family caregivers find themselves unable to take a vacation. Sometimes it’s for lack of time, sometimes it’s due to guilt.
Home Instead Senior Care recognizes the importance of taking care of yourself while caring for others. That’s why the national “Caregiver Cruise Giveaway” is now accepting nominations and votes for one lucky caregiver to win a vacation package worth $4,200.
Entries for the contest are being accepted through August 24 at CaregiverStress.com. The nominee with the most votes will receive a five-day, four-night Bahamas cruise, free airfare and up to 40 free hours of care from a Home Instead Senior Care professional CAREGiver.
Last year’s winner Melissa was nominated by her mother, who she has cared for 24/7 for the past four years. Her mother, who needs the support due to Alzheimer’s disease, said, “My daughter deserves this cruise — she has not been away in four years.”
